To mark the 25th anniversary of the ErasmusPlus project (formerly the Leonardo project) in Volterra.

Since 1999, over 430 young craftsmen and craftswomen
from Germany have come to the Tuscan town of Volterra for
a three-month professional internship, among other things to
help with the renovation of listed buildings. During their stay,
they live in the house of the GIAN di Volterra nature lovers .
In January, they learn Italian in Villa Palagione Centro
Interculturale , which also includes getting to know the
people, culture and history of the host country.
From February to the end of March, they then work in a
variety of businesses in Volterra.

The EU project is led by the Stuttgart Region Chamber of
Crafts and Trades and the Italian partners from Volterra:
Comune di Volterra, Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Volterra,
GIAN Volterra nature lovers, Villa Palagione- Centro
Interculturale, and numerous businesses from Volterra.
The long-term success was achieved primarily through the
personal commitment of all project partners in Germany and Italy. And "our" joint project is not only an extension of professional qualifications , but also an enrichment of life values such as friendship, tolerance and international understanding.
